is there anyway for us to know what each of their magic is? like we know that virge has fear and lightning magic, but what about everyone elses?

you dont have to answer, i just really enjoy the story line and the writting, and i wanted to know a bit more about the characters :)

First off: Sorry it took me so long to answer this, tumblr did not notify me that I had an ask.

Second: Please excuse any typos I'm still on vacation and using my phone to type. I finished writing this right after getting back from vacation and am running on little sleep.

Third: thank you so much! I always love hearing that people like my writing especially the story line and I'm so glad you want to know more about the characters!

Fourth: I don't have all of the character's powers fully fleshed out, but let's see what I can tell you.

Okay, so you've got Virgil's lightning and fear magic down.

The fear magic doesn't work on other witches who have protections up or someone whose mind has been warded somehow (not easy to do). He can sense people's fears and insert new fears into someone. The most concentrated fear he can give people is fear of himself. General and simple fears can be given from a distance. The more complex the fear, the closer he has to be until it reaches the point that he has to be touching the person. A permanent phobia also requires touch.

Using mental magic on someone also depends on whether or not they're another magic user, how strong their protections are (if they have any), how receptive they are to the magic, how often the witch has used mental magic on them in the past, and how familiar the witch is with them. For example, it gets easier for Virgil to share complex fears with Janus as the story progresses.

Virgil can also take fears away which he doesn't do often. He believes that fear is vital to a person's survival and that taking it away can have disastrous consequences. He will, however, lessen detrimental fears and phobias sometimes.

In addition, Virgil can cause anxiety and panic attacks, but he can't get rid of them. At least, not entirely. He can push them off for later. This doesn't always work for him.

Virgil's lightning magic is pretty straightforward. He can turn any cloud into a storm cloud and maybe even move clouds around to summon lightning from (I can't decide if that last part is overkill). His body is also a source of lightning with more electricity than average being generated from his body. He can shoot blots of lightning from himself and can electrocute people with touch.

Janus's magic is deception, healing, and secret-keeping.

Deception magic includes illusions, lie detection, and manipulation.

Janus's illusions can affect all five senses and can be nearly impossible to "see" through when he's at full power. At full power, they can withstand skepticism making it so that even when you know they aren't real they won't go away. Smell and taste are the easiest illusions with sound coming in third and sight and touch being the hardest.

Lie detection is complicated. It tells Janus how much of a lie something is as well as which parts are a lie. Not just lies he hears, but ones he sees, too. To an extent. Janus knows you're in disguise. He can also sense illusions.

Janus's manipulation is convincing people of things that aren't real. He specializes in comforting lies, though he can be vicious when he wants to be. It's great for getting his brothers out of trouble when they fuck up.

Janus's healing magic's speed depends on the severity of the wound. He can patch up just about anything. All it takes is touch and a bit of concentration. He insists on kissing Virgil to heal him because he's a dramatic gay.

Secret keeping magic consists of silencing and suppression magic.

Yes, silencing magic includes covering one's mouth with their own hand. What can I say, that's a classic. Janus can put a lock on certain facts, words, and concepts so that the person in question can't say them or communicate them in any other way. If they try the hand thing happens. The hand over their mouth isn't what's stopping them, it's symbolic.

I haven't worked out distances for silencing magic.

Suppression magic is exactly what it sounds like. It suppresses memories. Depending on various variables such as distance, Janus's health, protections, etc. the suppressed memories can sometimes be triggered into being remembered. He can also know what a person's suppressed memories are (if he looks for them) and can unsuppress them.

A side note on mental magic: it's amazing how easily a fae can use their witch magic on someone if they have their name. Rules get bent and sometimes broken when combining witch magic and name magic.

Both of the twins have creation magic. They can create things out of thin air, though most of the time it takes a good amount of concentration. Some things that they've created many times and are more familiar with are easier to create. Hence, Roman only creating a duplicate of his sword during his fight with Virgil.

The things the twins create have to be imagined very specifically or else they won't turn out right if they get made at all. They can't just make a house, they have to know where each brick is and what it's made of. They need to know what kind of wood the doors are made of, exactly how big the fireplace is, what glue is holding the wallpaper up, etc.

Roman specializes in creating fanciful things while Remus specializes in creating more taboo things. Hence, their monikers. It's really just personal preference, they can each make anything they can imagine.

Remus also has mind reading/telepathic magic. Mind reading can be a bit more complicated than most people think. Some people think in images. Some people can't mentally visualize things. Some people don't think much at all. However a person thinks Remus can tap into their thoughts.

Remus can also push his own thoughts into other people's minds giving them literal intrusive thoughts. He does not always use this power for good.

Like most mental magic Remus can't use this magic on people who have protections in place or are warded.

In addition to creation magic Roman has magic related to hopes, dreams, and romance.

Not only does he know people's hopes, dreams, and romantic feelings he can manipulate them, too. Roman can build hopes and dreams and destroy them just as easily. He can be cupid or make you fall out of love with just skin-to-skin contact and a bit of focus. (Honestly I think Roman's powers are the most terrifying).

Patton has empathic and unreality magic.

Patton can sense other people's emotions even through protections. Protections can, however, stop him from manipulating emotion. Long distance it's temporary, but with physical contact he can do permanent damage.

Patton's empathic magic only works for certain emotions. Basically happiness and sadness as well as most emotions related to those two. I think.

Like Virgil, Patton understands the importance of feeling emotions - even the "bad" ones (he's a fucking hypocrite but what can you do) so he doesn't tend to go around eliminating people's sadness. Just tries to reign it in a little. But like with Virgil he can only put off his own sadness for later. I haven't decided if the same thing happens when he does it to other people.

Unreality magic is quite terrifying. It's making things cease to exist. Just gone. Forever. I hate to compare it to Thanos's snap but that's basically what it is. And yes, he can do it to people, but it takes a lot out of him.

Logan's magic I've thought about the least. It definitely includes some kind of magic that allows him to learn things faster and/or easier. And he has negation magic. He can negate anyone else's magic.

Remy actually wasn't born a witch. His magic was a faerie godfather gift from Thomas. As such, he only has one type of magic. Sleep magic.

Remy controls people's ability to sleep. I haven't thought very far into the details of that.

Thomas has many kinds of magic. Dude's a magic hoarder. No, really. The magic he was born with? Magic theft. He has the ability to steal other witchs' magic. Once he takes it they don't have it anymore. If he takes all of their magic they are no longer witches and they lose everything that came with the classification including immortality.

“Fuck, I’m doing this. I’m really doing this Wanda” Natasha told Wanda while sipping on her drink at the bar of Tony’s party. Wanda smiled at her and patted her shoulder.

“You’ve got this, don’t worry” she said, before taking a sip from her cup. They both had turned to look at you laughing across the room at Rhodes reinacting how he is with the suit on.

“I’m so nervous. What happens if she says no?” Natasha said, turning back around to the bar with a worried look on her face and a growing pit in her stomach. The courage went as fast as it came.

You and Natasha had been together for a little over a year and it was all going great. Natasha knew you were someone that she wanted to spend her whole life with after first getting to know each other, you guys just clicked. Recently, Natasha had bought an engagement ring and she just hoped you felt the same way she did about spending your lives together.

Wanda rolled her eyes at Natasha rambling off. Nat had asked Tony to throw the party as a celebration for after the proposal but now she was wondering if it was all wrong to do that. She had been pacing all day going back and forth from overthinking. If you say no, then the party would have been thrown for no reason after all.

“Nat, you need to stop overthinking. You’ve been talking about this moment for how long? Like a month? You guys are both meant for each other and it’s pretty obvious” Wanda chuckled as Natasha looked at her.

“You’re right, I’m over thinking it. It’s gonna be alright. Thanks Wanda” she smiled at Wanda, pulling her in for a hug. Wanda engulfed her back before pulling away and seeing you step outside onto the balcony.

“I think it’s your time to shine” Wanda said motioning to you out on the balcony. Natasha looked at your figure before looking back at Wanda.

Wanda nodded her head in encouragement and winked, handing her the ring box Natasha had given her earlier to hold onto since she had no pockets. “Go get em’ tiger” she smiled as Natasha smiled back before heading outside. Wanda had notified everyone that Natasha was about to propose.

You had stepped outside to get some fresh air after laughing so hard at Rhodeys stories. It felt nice on your skin as it had become hot in there. You heard someone behind you step out. Turning you saw your girlfriend, Natasha and a smile came onto your face.

“Hey babe” you smiled at her as she came up next to you, placing and arm around your waist. You placed your head on her shoulder while looking at the city view with all the gleaming lights.

“I love the city, Nat. I mean it has its cons but” you paused, looking up at her and smiling, “you can’t get a view like this anywhere else” you finished, pecking her cheek and looking up at her.

She smiled slightly but stayed silent, feeling the pit of nervousness in her stomach growing. The ring box sat in her other hand which only made her more nervous. You sensed something was wrong and stood up straighter, still looking at her.

“Is everything alright, Nat?” You asked as she pulled her arm away from you waist, turning her body to face you. She stood there silent still as you tried to read her face for any emotion.

“Nat, say something you’re making me nervous” you chuckled as Natasha looked up at you and giving you a small smile. She slowly got down onto one knee, bringing her hands together, cupping the ring in between them.

You looked at her with wide eyes, shocked that this was happening but nonetheless exploding with emotions inside. You didn’t know but everyone was watching the entire interaction from inside. Wanda was smiling, in awe at what she was witnessing.

“(Y/N), I’ve been pacing all morning and afternoon waiting for this moment and I might ramble off so just bare with me” Natasha said as you let out a small chuckle, tears starting to form in your eyes.

“The moment I met you, we clicked. I knew something was bound to happen with us, whether it be being best friends or end up in this situation here. You’ve helped me more than you can imagine, told me corny jokes to cheer me up and even made me your secret soup that no one has ever had, which might I say I am honored” she joked as you laughed.

“I love you more than you can imagine and I want nothing more than to be your spouse and you as mine. So” she paused, opening the box to show a ring with three diamonds on it, the center one being a bit bigger than the other. You gasped as you saw the ring, it was beautiful. A tear slipped down your cheek looking back up at Natasha.

“Will you do me the honor and marry me?” Natasha said as you covered your mouth, nodding your head slowly up and down.

“Yes. Yes!!” You laughed at her as Natasha shot up from her kneeling position and engulfed you in a hug. Everyone from the inside cheered loudly that it caused you both to pull away and look at them and laugh. You turn back to Natasha and pull her in for a kiss. The amount of happiness you felt at the moment only made you feel ontop of the world.

Natasha pulled away, smiling before slipping the ring onto your finger. You looked at your hand, admiring the ring. You looked back up at Natasha, grabbing her face in between your hands, smiling.

“I love you, Natasha. So much” you said, before pecking her lips and engulfing her in a hug. She hugged you back, placing a kiss on your shoulder. Everything did turn out alright and she knew you both would be together for as long as time stood. Forever.

Who sees the information I put in my application?

The middle section with your preferences will be copy-pasted and sent word-for-word to your santa. Your santa will also get your tumblr URL/ username. If you addressed any comments to your santa in your miscellaneous comment section, I’ll pass those along too.

Only the mods will see your email and other details. For now, that’s only me (@codedredalert) and @narramin. Since the volume of work got overwhelming, I got her on board as a mod.

How do you select Secret Santas?

I sort participants by naughty and nice into a SFW group and a NSFW group. After that, both groups are separately put through a random generator. Once giftees are drawn from the generator, I will manually check to make sure santas/ giftees share at least one mutual interest.

You should not be giving to the same person you’re receiving from.

What does it mean if I’m in the NSFW group?

If you choose NSFW, it means you are okay with making or receiving NSFW content AND are at least 21 years of age.

You do not have to create a NSFW gift if you don’t feel like it. You may or may not receive a NSFW gift.

What is considered NSFW?

NSFW components for the purposes of this event (loosely based on the R rating guidelines of the Motion Picture Association of America):

      (1) Violence: Canon-typical depictions of violence are generally SFW (eg. brawls, blood, stabbing). However, violence that is detailed, realistic, extreme or persistent would make a work NSFW.

       (2) Language/ Profanity / Swearing: Generally, swearing is SFW, but you’re encouraged to keep it mild. You have a maximum of one (1) singular “fuck” to give in a SFW work. Use it wisely. Excessive or extremely graphic swearing would make a work NSFW.

       (3) Drugs/ Substance Abuse:

       Canon-typical depiction of smoking is SFW (eg. chain smoking or smoking several cigarettes/cigars at once is SFW). However, smoking/ nicotine addiction that is detailed, realistic, extreme or persistent would make a work NSFW.

       Canon-typical drinking of large amounts of alcohol is SFW. However, alcoholism/ alcohol addiction that is detailed, realistic, extreme or persistent would make a work NSFW.

      (4) Nudity and sexual content:

Yup! Generally, giving more information in your application is better. It’s good to be clear and upfront about your likes and dislikes. It helps me a lot in deciding if I need to re-roll when I double-check your random match. It helps your santa know what not to give you too.

Sorry, nope. I’m sure you and your OCs are lovely, however, this is a One Piece event, so please only feature canon One Piece characters.

You CAN sneak in a little extra cameo if you really want. Eg. a random person in the background/ a random shopkeeper in your fic. But the focus must be on canon One Piece characters.

The compulsory warning tags (following those on Ao3) generally cover a wide range of potentially offensive content. Please be responsible for your own content regulation by blacklisting the necessary tags. I cannot be responsible for everyone’s content consumption.

Your personal triggers will already be accounted for in the application form and the information sent to your santa. So, this shouldn’t be a problem for your gift. Also, there are the compulsory warning tags for you to blacklist if necessary.

If you think there is still a very high chance that other people’s gifts will have your trigger, send me an ask off-anon proposing (1) a feasible identification system and (2) a tag name. We’ll see if we can work something out.

Two. The older posts like this one use mostly “I”, since I started this event alone, but beacuse of the number of participants and the workload I got another person on board.

Chapter 5

Jimin woke up in a chair. But all he saw was blackness because his eyes were closed and his head was pulsing and heavy. He couldn't understand where he was but the voices that echoed against the walls notify him that he was in a big room. He heard Paula's voice calling out for help and just then his eyes opened.

"Oh, this little shit is waking now," a strong and deep voice said.

Then he felt a strong grip on his hair and his head was lifted up. Jimin saw Paula right in front of him tied to a chair. Her hair was messy and her makeup was running down her face. But in his eyes she still looked so good. But her face was red and her eyes were blood shut from crying. Jimin felt so sorry for her. And the guilt was eating his brain. He didn't want see her like this. And see her fall apart. The fear in her eyes reflected his fright.

"What will we do with them?" One of the men asked. The other one just smirked and walked towards Paula. He grabbed her face and she as struggling his grip and whimpering.

"Don't touch her!" Jimin yelled. But he didn't budge and the man's grip got stronger on Paula's cheeks. But what Jimin got was a punch in the face from the other man in black who was standing next to him.

"NO!" Paula screamed looking at Jimin who was spitting out some blood. Jimin just smirked and was kind of happy because Paula would be safe if he gets beaten. But he was so wrong because next thing he knows Paula got slapped by the man who held her down.

Jimin growled and struggled against the ropes but they were tied really strongly and he couldn't move at all.

"I said don't touch her!" Jimin yelled again but no one listened to him.

Just then the door of this dark room opens. And Mr. Kim walks in. He chuckled at the sight. Jimin was bloody and Paula was crying.

"It's nice to see you again, Jimin."

Jimin looked up to see Namjoon's face. Jimin could say that he hated his face the most. There are some dark secrets that no one really knows. And Jimin always wanted to hide them. Forever and always. But Jimin knew thatNamjoon knew too. This business that they are in - it's dangerous and its life and death game. Jimin was stupid to not to refuse his father when his father said that Paula will be his new partner. Now Paula was in danger. He didn't know how to get out of this situation. They were fucked and there is no one to help them.

"Jimin-ssi I have been missing you for a really long time. You know how couple of years back you and I were friends and out pretty little group of friends. We were the best of friends, weren't we?" Namjoon snorts and touches Paula's bruised cheek. "And you took everything from me. Yoongi, Hoseok and Taehyung. Oh, and do you remember little Jungkookie? He was so innocent and he didn't deserve anything what happened to him. But it was all your fault. They all died because of you. And it hurt me. But you went on with it. Like nothing ever happened."

Namjoon grabbed Paula's hair and she whimpered and tried to get loose of the grip but it was too strong.

"Namjoon! Don't touch her! I will kill you!" Jimin yelled out loud. He thought that his throat will hurt soon from allt he yelling but he didn't want to see her hurt. He knew his threads didn't mean anything to Namjoon. Jimin was the one who was tied to the chair.

namjoon tured his gaze towards Paula.

"Do you even know what he did?" Namjoon asked the girl. She shook her head. She was a bit scared of what he will tell her. Maybe Jimin was as bad as she thought at first. But she did admit that she has fallen for him and she doesn't know how to get out. Because the rule always stays in her mind.

"Let him tell you," Namajoon clicked his fingers and one of the men brought him a chair to sit on.

"Jiminie, my boy here, killed all of out friends. I remember how Yoongi tried to burn everything down. He loved the fire and pain what it caused. But we all always tried to protect him. It was one fateful night when Jimin and Yoongi fought because of a girl who was a slut anyway. Jimin fucked her and Yoongi was so pissed because he liked that girl. In the end Jimin left with blue eye and Yoongi was alone and upset. We all knew his way. He lit up his room, his whole apartment. Of course, he didn't survive." Namjoon looked down just like he was drowning in the memories of his hyung.

"But it wasn't enough. I think you know Jung Hoseok." He asked Paula.

"You mean the famous dancer?"

"Yes, the one and only. He was out friend too. Jimin decided to try to trick him. Jimin poured some drugs in Hoseok's drink. And guess what? We found him dead in his bed." Namjoon chuckled and shook his head.

"It wasn't me!" Jimin screamed.

"Yes, it was you, you dumb bitch. You and him were together that night. I remember when Hoseok texted me that he was with you. And next thing I know I find my best friend dead without a breath." Namjoon got up and punched Jimin in the jaw.

"Please stop!" Paula squeeled out.

"I won't stop till he feel the pain I did and still do feel. Jiminie, I know you rememeber our little Jungkook. He was only 17. He was like our little brother. It was out responsibility to protect him and love him. But YOU had to ruin everything again." Namjoon pointed at Jimin who was spitting the blood out of his mouth but the standing angry man looked at Paula.

"Jungkook was young and he died because of JIMIN! Jungkook wanted just some chips, you know, just like normal kids. But Jimin was too stubborn to go with him. Jungkook was beaten by some guys and after that he got hit by a car. AND THAT'S NOT ALL. I know, Paula, that you know Taehyung right? He got killed because of Jimin too. And now he will suffer as much as I did."

Namjoon took a pole and hit Paulas stomach with it. Paula screamed in pain and Jimin in tears screamed for him to stop.

"This opportunity is perfect. I know how much this stupid girl means to you, Jimin."

He swung again and hit her again. She coughed and tried to deal with the pain.

"STOP!" Jimin screamed and tried to get free but the ropes burned bruised in his wrists.

Just then the door opened.

"Joonie? What is happeneing here?" A small voice asked.

Once you and Jumin were inside the penthouse the effect of the drugs had almost completely worn off, although you did stagger from time to time, you walked over to the kitchen eager to get a cool drink of water as you saw Jumin dialling a number on his phone.

“Why on earth did you go to such lengths?”

You overheard Jumin’s conversation from the kitchen and decided to listen.

“I specifically said, keep an eye out for her and make sure she’s safe!” Jumin yelled, whoever he was talking to definitely did something terrible.

“At what point in time, may I ask, was drugging her allowed? I asked for her to be brought back to me safe, why is it that a security company does not understand the meaning of safe!”

Your eyes widened, this conversation was about you and how you had apparently been drugged by Jumin’s security. You watched as he ran a hand through his soft black hair and dropped his phone on the kitchen counter, his movements were smooth and elegant, something you missed about him. You put your empty glass in the sink and found yourself craving a hot bath, you remembered Jumin owned a spa bath so you decided to use it then get your ass out of this hell hole.

You didn't know where Jumin had gone, but as long as he wasn't in the way you were fine, you made your way to the bathroom and filled up the bath, pouring in random soaps that smelt good to soothe your growing headache, once it was filled up you had stripped down and stepped in. There was a small hand towel which you had found and used it as a pillow for your head, your mind began to drift, you hadn't been there in ages and it seems so long ago that you used to call this place your home.

Your muscles relaxed until you decided that you needed to get out of here, you had drunk too much and you could feel your energy slipping away with the need to sleep growing stronger. You drained the bath and wrapped a towel around yourself, hoping your belongings were still in their previous place.

You walked into the bedroom and checked your drawers, thanking the lord that your stuff was still here. You hurriedly slipped some clothes on and made your way to the bedroom door, but Jumin was standing outside leaning against the wall.

“Where do you think you’re going?” He questioned

“I'm going home, Jumin” You said as you tried to walk past but he stepped in front of you.

“I just got you back and you're trying to run away from me? I'm not going to let you leave”

“What? You haven’t gotten me back, I just happen to be in your house due to some circumstances”

“No, you're back and I'm not going to let you leave again, one whole month and I haven't seen or heard from you” Jumin said quietly as he neared you causing you to back up as well.

“Please let me go, I don't want to be here”

“I don’t care MC, you’re mine”

Your eyes widened as you looked up at Jumin, his face had darkened and his eyes were staring into yours, you knew he could get possessive but not this much. You glanced behind you and saw the bed, you couldn't back away anymore and he was less than 5 centimetres away from you.

Jumin grabbed your chin and forced you to look at him, fear travelled through your nerves, but you were comforted by his close proximity. As he looked at you and you looked at him you noticed how his mouth drooped and his eyes had slight bags under them, you scoffed, he did this to himself. You felt his hand leave your chin before both his hands rest on your shoulders, he frowned.

“You lost weight, have you not been taking care of yourself?”

You stayed silent, he was always like this, somehow he noticed everything around him and wouldn't hold back to fix it. Suddenly the hands that were on your shoulders shoved you down harshly onto the bed, but you brought your legs up and shoved your knee into his stomach, he rolled off you and you took that opportunity to run out, you quickly grabbed your belongings but you were suddenly tackled to the ground causing everything to spill all over the cold tile, including you.

“You’re not going to leave me MC”

“As if I would fucking listen to your cheating ass” you said as you tried to wiggle out from under him.

“Have you fallen in love with Zen? Is that what it is?”

You were shocked into silence, how dare he accuse you of falling in love with someone else when you had seen with you own eyes that he seemed to be doing the exact same thing.

“Jumin, you have no right to say that to me right now and even if I was in love with him can you blame me? I saw your dick in some other bitch and you think you can question me on who I love? I’ve never hated someone as much as you”.

You feel Jumin freeze above you making you feel as if you have crossed an imaginary boundary but you didn’t care how he felt since it didn't seem he cared about you and your own feelings. You flipped onto your back and looked up at his face, something wet fell on your cheek and brushed his hanging hair away so you could look him in the eyes. Jumin was crying, you weren't sure whether to comfort him or leave so you just lay there waiting for something to happen.

“Tell me you didn't mean that MC” Jumin said as he looked up at you with watery eyes.

“Tell me that you don't hate me, please” He pleaded once again.

“Are you kidding? Why would I not hate you right now, I hate you so much, I wish I nev-”

Your head cracked to the side with a sting in your left cheek, an iron taste spread over your tongue, Jumin had slapped you and made you bleed. You spat the blood out onto the floor before you were about to shove him off but he got up himself and backed away.

“MC, I'm so sorry, please just stay with me, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry my darl- I just don't know what to do anymore, please jus-”

You got up from the floor and slapped him back, you didn't say or do anything to let him know what was going on in your mind. Jumin looked at the floor not daring to look you in the eye, he didn't even look up as you walked away into the bedroom so you could get rid of your blood stained shirt.

You quickly put on on of your old sweatshirts and left, checking your back pocket for your phone you walked out of the bedroom but ran into Jumin again.

“MC please I'm so sorry” he fell to his knees in front of you “I can explain myself, please give me some time, you know I don’t know how to deal with these emotions, please I'm begging you, you're the best thing to ever happen to me, I can't let you leave.”

You pushed him off of you and sped out of there, his footsteps not far behind.

“Jumin leave me alone, i need some time to think” you started to let your tears fall, you were so used to Jumin being strong and resilient, it hurt to see him like this, he was kneeling in front of you again with swollen eyes, tears rolling down his face and his hair stuck to his forehead, although you knew you didn't look any better.

The both of you stayed there like that until the elevator doors opened behind you, you wiped your eyes and turned around to see the sight of V. The sight of him was like seeing the first ray of sunshine after three days of hurricanes.

You turned around and glanced at Jumin before asking V “Please take me away from here”.
